The 2023 PREA audit used 834 as designed facility capacity and listed a current population of 292, a prior-12-month average daily population of 287, and a day-one onsite audit population of 336.

The 2024 Board of Local and Regional Jails annual capacity report listed Roanoke City with 834 total beds, rated capacity 409, and annualized average daily population of 331.59 for July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
